Recent media stories have warned about the risk of using nebulisers – devices that create steam to help moisten the airways. It is believed this steam (aerosolised water) can carry and transmit coronavirus in the air. Some stories have confused nebulisers with spacers. Spacers remain safe for individuals to use.

If you have a respiratory condition you should continue to follow your management plan, take your preventer as directed and consult with your doctor if you are ever unsure about the medication you are taking.
